Salary: ₹7 - ₹12 Lakhs/Annum Expected

Description:

Unisys is hiring an IT Automation Engineer to join its global technology solution squads across key delivery hubs in Bangalore and Hyderabad. Positioned within their enterprise computing and hybrid cloud architecture track, this role focuses on removing operational friction by replacing manual systems management with scalable code. You will translate enterprise infrastructure blueprints into execution plans—owning the design, script development, and deployment of complex configuration frameworks. The daily scope balances multi-OS administration with structural automation routines, building continuous pipelines to manage VM lifecycles, enforce security patch compliance, and remediate environmental configuration drift.

Key Technologies:

Ansible, PowerShell, Shell scripting (Bash), Python

Requirements:

  • 2–4 years of professional hands-on experience operating inside an Infrastructure Automation, Configuration Management, or DevOps engineering role.
  • Strong, advanced proficiency building idempotent configurations using Ansible, constructing structured playbooks/roles, utilizing Ansible Galaxy, and administering Ansible Tower or AWX engines. Foundational exposure to Puppet is highly valued.
  • Diverse programming and script development capabilities utilizing Python for system automation, Microsoft PowerShell for Windows server orchestration, and native Shell scripting (Bash) for Linux task management.
  • Solid practical domain knowledge running enterprise-level Linux and Windows Server platforms, including system debugging, user privileges configurations, and directory navigation.
  • Hands-on capability delivering automation across public cloud setups (such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or GCP) combined with private cloud architectures and legacy on-premises data centers.
  • Deep awareness of configuration drift principles, building declarative server blueprints, managing infrastructure versioning via Git repositories, and testing automation script builds.
  • Practical experience consuming REST APIs to tie isolated internal workflow components, compute resources, and external enterprise monitoring engines together.
  • Analytical capacity to convert raw business performance criteria into technical automation design summaries, including drafting effort estimations and execution playbooks.
  • Exposure to Azure DevOps CI/CD pipeline structures, hands-on administration of VMware and vCenter Data Center virtualization layers, direct experience with cloud-native scaling fabrics, security hardening automated compliance routines, and bidirectional ITSM tool integrations (specifically ServiceNow).
  • Sharp root-cause troubleshooting capabilities to diagnose pipeline bottlenecks, meticulous habits for publishing clean technical documentation, and clear verbal communication patterns to interact smoothly with multi-regional support leads.
